This seminar was held by The Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries.
During this seminar, Mr. To first gave an overview of the PRC Exchange Control System and objectives of the central government. He then highlighted the relaxation of exchange control on international trade, non-trade current items and capital account items. He also mentioned the use of RMB by foreign investors to invest into the PRC, outbound investment and possibility of RQDII. Finally, he pointed out the new development of RQFII and the offshore RMB settlement / clearance centres such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai, etc.
